Where to Find Your Sunglasses Model Number and Color Code

BUYING GUIDE

A line of characters inside a temple can contain several separate identifiers. The model may stay the same across colors, while a shorter code identifies the finish or tint. A group of size numbers gives dimensions. Photograph the whole line before deciding which part a seller needs.

Inspect both arms and the packaging

Use diffuse light and angle the marking toward it. Dark ink on a dark temple can be easier to read from the side. Check the second arm, the bridge area, original box label, order confirmation and product paperwork. Avoid scraping the surface or adding solvent to reveal faded print.

Separate size from identity

A sequence such as 52 □ 18 140 usually describes lens, bridge and temple measurements in millimeters. Many unrelated models can share those values. Send them as supporting information rather than presenting them as the model number. A printed color code can also be important when asking for a matching lens or temple. Understanding size markings.

Send a request that can be answered

Include a straight-on photo, a side view, both temple inscriptions and the specific part you need. State left or right from the wearer’s perspective. If asking about lenses, specify whether you need one lens, a matched pair or a complete shield and whether the existing pair is prescription.

If no permanent markings remain, a dated receipt and original listing link are better evidence than a visual match from a search result. Ask the seller to confirm compatibility in writing before ordering a part. Replacement lens checklist.
